Broome and Derby

 

 

Derby is close to 2,400 Km north of Perth at the Southern end of King Sound. Has a  great mineral wealth and Aboriginal culture. Has the highest tides in the Southern hemisphere. Also referred to as the "Gateway to the Gorges".

Here we have the famous Prison Boab tree in Derby which was used to keep prisoners in overnight. Buzz and H are in the picture.

Another view The tree is 7 Km south of Derby. It is a hollow tree which was used to keep prisoners in overnight.
